Basic Custom SharePoint 2010 Approval Workflow – Part 1

This series of posts may serve as reference material in creating a basic custom SharePoint 2010 workflow using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. This part will illustrate the preparation steps.

1. In Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, create a New Project using SharePoint 2010 Sequential Workflow template.

2. Specify the local site where you want to use for debugging. Note that a sandboxed solution deployment is not available for this template.

3. For this purpose, select List Workflow as the workflow type.

3. As illustrated below, specify the lists to be associated with the workflow.

3. Specify the conditions for how the workflow will be started.

4. Upon clicking the Finish button in the previous step, the environment will ready for development.
